Livingston County State’s Attorney Seth Uphoff announced late last week he is seeking re-election.

Uphoff has been the Livingston County State’s Attorney since 2012 and has handled and won several high profile cases, including murder, reckless homicide and child sexual assault.

Uphoff says he is ready to take on four more years in office.

“Since taking office in 2012, I’ve been willing to make the tough decisions and take on tough cases and see them through the end. The State of Illinois and our county have some tough times ahead. As a good friend once told me, ‘Tough times never last, but tough people do.’ I believe I’ve shown the toughness to help continue leading Livingston County through these tough times ahead, for at least the next four years,” Uphoff said.

Current Ford County State’s Attorney Randy Yedinak is running against Uphoff for the Republican nomination for the position.
