Planting vegetables in fall? It’s not really a bad idea.
Kelly Allsup, horticulture educator at the University of Illinois Extension, said many gardeners have had great success with planting fall vegetables.
“In the fall, you can grow a whole new crop of plants, like lettuce, kale, spinach, carrots and radish,” Allsup said. “Plant right now, and you’ll have a new crop of vegetables before it gets cold.”
