Two arrested for multi-county burglaries

Two men who are suspected in 41 daytime residential burglaries in three counties is now in police custody.

A search warrant was obtained for a residence in Elwood where approximately $30,000 worth of stolen items and two vehicles were seized as evidence. As a result, Jesus DeJesus of Elwood and Tone Adams of Kankakee were arrested and admitted to committing 41 residential burglaries in the three counties. They are being held with pending charges, including possession of stolen property, residential burglary, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon. The pair was taken to the Will County Jail.

Agencies involved in this case included the Livingston, Will and Kankakee sheriff’s departments and the Livingston County Proactive Unit.

Sheriff Tony Childress further advices the citizens of Livingston County remain consistent in keeping vehicles and homes secured and to report any suspicious activity.
