A longtime employee of the Livingston County Circuit Clerk’s office announced yesterday she is seeking the Republican nomination for the office in the upcoming primary election.

LeAnn Dixon has been the deputy clerk since August 1997 and before was a secretary and bookkeeper at Potiac-Esmen School for seven years.

Dixon hopes her years of experience will set her apart from any other person who may seek election to that position.

“There’s a lot to learn in the Circuit Clerk’s office. They have to follow the statutes and there are new fines and fees all the time and just having the history of what started and progressing, along with the programs Judy (Cremer) has already incorporated and can follow through. It can be an easy transition, I hope,” Dixon said.

Longtime circuit clerk Judy Cremer recently announced she will not be seeking re-election and as of today, no other people have announced their candidacy.
