A special ribbon cutting ceremony was held in Saunemin yesterday to mark the completion of its new water treatment and storage system.
Many people were on hand for the event and Saunemin’s Mayor Bob Bradford said the work that was done to the water system is a huge benefit to the village.
“Well, we all had kind of a sentimental attachment to that tower because it was a landmark, but it was something that had to be done in order to have a safe and reliable water system,” Bradley said. “We’re just very proud that Illinois American Water chose us to make that type of investment.”
The water plant is located at 18 Wellington Drive.
