Pontiac man nets several charges

A Pontiac man was arrested over the weekend on several felony and misdemeanor charges.

According to Pontiac Police Major Dan Davis, 18-year-old Randall Jarrett was arrested shortly after 11 Saturday night after a call came in about a person trying to start a fight with neighbors in the 500 block of North Oak Street. It was reported the subject was consuming alcohol, struck two people and ran into a nearby garage. A foot chase ensued and after a struggle with officers, Jarrett provided a false name and was taken into custody.

Jarrett has formally been charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer, a Class 2 felony, and causing injury while resisting a peace officer, a Class 4 felony. He was also charged with several Class A misdemeanors, including resisting a peace officer, escape, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and two counts of battery.

He is being held at the Livingston County Jail. His bond is $50,000 10 percent.
