OSF Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center has been named the safest hospital in Illinois for 2015.
This is the second time the facility has received this honor by Consumer Reports.
Pam Meiner, director of marketing and communications for the hospital, said this honor means a lot to the staff at the facility.
“To be recognized again, means to us that we are consistently maintaining that level of care and service. It quite possibly means more to us this time around than the first time,” Meiner said.
The safety score is a composite of five categories that relate to hospital safety, including avoiding infections and readmissions, communicating about medications and discharge, appropriate use of chest and abdominal scanning and avoiding medical and surgical mortality.
