Those who travel what’s commonly known as the Weston Blacktop, or Livingston County Highway 10, will need to find a new route during road construction that begins Wednesday.
According to the Livingston County Highway Department, construction will take approximately three months on the stretch of the highway, reaching from County Highway 8, otherwise known as Ocoya Road, south to the McLean County line.
This closure will accommodate the removal and replacement of a bridge.
A detour route will be marked and motorists traveling between Fairbury and Pontiac are advised to use County Highway 6, more commonly known as the Fairbury Road. The Weston Blacktop will also remain open from Pontiac to the Ocoya Road.
