Illinois American Water is supporting local fire departments during National Drinking Water Week.

The Pontiac Fire Department is one of 12 fire departments whose pictures are featured and dependant on votes to receive a top prize of $1,250.

Pontiac Fire Chief Scott Runyon said the department chose a photograph from the 2007 fire at Super 8.

“Please get out and vote. We’ll take everything we can get. We’re competing against some pretty big towns, so give us all the help you can,” said Runyon.

The contest runs through May 15 and votes can be cast via facebook.com/ilamwater. The winners will be announced shortly after the deadline.
