An accident Saturday night has left a Pontiac man in serious condition in a Peoria hospital. 45-year-old Dennie Butler of Pontiac was on foot Saturday evening when he was struck by a car driven by 70-year-old James Norton of Chicago. Norton reportedly told police that he was adjusting his radio while driving south on Ladd. He said he heard a noise and turned around at Washington street and then realized he’d collided with a pedestrian.

Butler was transported to OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center and then flown to Peoria. Norton was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
