According to court documents filed in Peoria earlier this week, a former records file clerk for the Fairbury Police Department has filed a federal lawsuit claiming wrongful termination. Kaci Zimmerman is seeking reinstatement to her former position and restored compensation. Zimmerman’s suit includes a number of serious allegations against Fairbury officials, and she claims that her work record was spotless since her hire in 2012. She says that changed with the election of Fairbury Mayor Lynn Dameron and the hiring of other key individuals in the police department.  Zimmerman names Dameron, Fairbury Police Chief Mike Frickey and other city officials as individual defendants. She’s suing the City of Fairbury as well. Zimmerman was terminated in February.
