A fight at a Livingston County high school has led to felony charges against an 18-year old student. The fight happened during the lunch hour Tuesday at Flanagan-Cornell High School.  Livingston County State’s Attorney Randy Yedinak said the student, Andrew Kozak, caused non-life threatening head and hand injuries to a Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy, who is the school’s resource officer.

Yedinak said the the deputy was treated at a Pontiac hospital.  Also, Kozak allegedly pushed a teacher who was not injured.

Kozak is charged with resisting a peace officer and aggravated battery, both felonies.  Kozak faces up to five years in prison if convicted, but he could also receive probation or conditional discharge.

Bond was set at $5,000, meaning Kozak could be released from jail on a $500 cash bond.

Yedinak said police are still investigating and other students involved in the fight might face charges.
