PONTIAC – Owners of Chrysler cars can rev up their engines and bring their vehicles to the annual MOPAR car show this Saturday.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. behind Hellers in Pontiac. Show coordinator Bruce Dehm explained there is a $15 entree fee for anyone who wants to bring their car to the event, with the proceeds going to a local nonprofit organization.

“We have everything from the old, old cars to the brand new Challengers out there,” said Dehm. “This is our fourth year for it and all the proceeds go to the Humane Society.”

People who want to view the cars and talk to the owners can do so free of charge. Dehm noted attendance for the event has grown each year, which bodes well for the fundraising aspect of the show.

“We’ve built it up from like 30 the first year and last year we had 62,” Dehm said. “So it’s coming up and coming up and we’re just glad we can give it to the Humane Society because they do a great job here in Livingston County.”

Music and food will also be provided at the show. People can vote on a ballot for their five favorite cars, including best stock and modified cars. Trophies, hand-made by Dehm, will be given to the vehicle owners near the end of the show.
