Two Pontiac youths were arrested last week after they allegedly stole a governmental pick up truck and led police on a high speed chase that ended with the truck in a ditch and the juveniles in custody.
Pontiac Police dispatch received a call from a resident on Pierce Street who claimed that a truck belonging to the Pontiac Township Tax Assessor’s office was stolen from his driveway. He said he had turned the truck on in order to let it warm up and then returned to his residence, the Pontiac Daily leader reports.
Pontiac Police Maj. Dan Davis said that a Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle near the Pontiac Municipal Airport and attempted to pull it over.
The truck sped off and eventually ended up in a ditch near Odell
The 16-year-old male and 15-year-old female were then taken into custody. No one was injured in the incident and no damage was reported to the vehicle.
