February is American Heart Month, and although this has the designated name, a heart can be kept healthy year around.
Tonya Johnson-Wilcox, EMS Director at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, has some tips to keep your heart healthy.
“We should be paying attention to how we eat, how we exercise and what we can do to help keep our heart healthy throughout the year. Not just February. Going for brisk walks, getting on the treadmill, watching what we eat, eating healthy and looking at heart healthy recipes is one way of doing that,” Johnson-Wilcox said.
