The Livingston County Master Gardeners are taking advantage of the aromatic pine and spruce in the area, selling center pieces to help fund the organizations events.
University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator Kelly Allsup explains the story behind the wreaths.
“Horticulture is big during the holidays with our fresh trees and our handmade wreaths. The Livingston Master Gardeners are actually doing their fundraiser this year through the holiday. They’re creating holiday centerpieces out of evergreens and they’re making them really festive. Just a way for them to raise money to support their projects. You can go on our website or call the local office. We’re selling them for $25, so you have those beautiful evergreens that are going to smell amazing. They’ll be very festive, plus the money is going to go to a good cause,” Allsup said.
