OSF Healthcare at OSF Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center is now offering a new option for those suffering from chronic pain.
Director of Surgical Services Michelle Cox said radiofrequency ablation is now available and is for patients who feel like there’s no end in sight for their chronic pain.
“Pain is so debilitating that if we can break that cycle, it changes a person’s life, so they can increase their function, their normal daily function. For someone who has not been able to do the dishes or play with their grandkids or even take a shower without discomfort, it changes their lives. People get to the point where they can exercise again, and we know the benefits of exercise, both mentally and physically. So it’s awesome,” Cox said.
