Applications are now being accepted for the second annual Vermillion Players Scholarship.
Mick Peterson, who is a member of the Vermillion Players Board of Directors, described some qualifications a student has to have to be considered for the scholarships.
“Applicants should be young people – seniors in high school from the county high schools – who are interested in maybe pursuing a career in theater arts and have been in a minimum of two Vermillion Players productions,” Peterson said.
Peterson also said the scholarship has changed in the two years since it was established.
“Due to the generosity of so many people with the donations we’ve received, we’ve been able to bump up the scholarships. Last year, we gave out four $250 scholarships. This year, we’re giving out up to eight $500 scholarships. That’s really kind of cool, as far as we’re concerned,” Peterson said.
