COVID-19 Vaccination Update

By Todd Wineburner

As of March 26th, Livingston County health officials have administered nearly 14,000 doses of the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines. That’s according to Health Department Administrator Jackie Dever.

Dever says the vaccines present unique challenges because they have a relatively short shelf life and must be used in accordance with a strict timetable. Dever adds, though, that no doses of vaccine have been wasted in Livingston County.

As of this writing, the health department has only the Moderna vaccine, but they are hoping to receive shipments of the Pfizer vaccine as well as the single-dose vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson.
