A sixth Livingston County resident has tested positive for COVID-19 infection. Livingston County Public Health Department officials say they received notice of the latest positive test on Thursday (4/2) afternoon, leaving three men and three women in the county under care for the disease. Three are recovering in isolation at home and three are hospitalized.

According to the LCHD, 62 test results have been processed on the local level. 21 tests were conducted by the Illinois Department of Health, while the others were handled at independent labs. 54 testsĀ  were negative for the virus, six were positive, and the results of two tests are still pending.

Privacy laws prohibit the release of detailed information about those infected, but LCHD officials say that every positive test prompts the contacting and testing of anyone who’s had significant contact with the infected individuals.
