Unemployment is trending upward in Illinois, and Livingston County isn’t exempt.

According to data released last week by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Illinois Department of Employment Security, unemployment has risen everywhere, including Pontiac and the greater Livingston County area, the Pontiac Daily Leader reports.

In Pontiac, the unemployment rate increased from 3.6 percent in Oct. 2017 to 4.1 percent in Oct. 2018, and non-farm payroll employment decreased by 150 jobs.

The same rate increase was experienced in the rest of Livingston County as well.
