August wellness clinic dates announced

The Livingston County Public Health Department is offering wellness clinics on August 2 and 16.

Health Education and Marketing Director Linda Rhodes explains why it’s important for adults to have these wellness checks done, which are offered during the clinics.

“It’s important that people have some annual wellness screenings done because there are many things going on in our bodies that have no outward appearances. A very good example of that is blood pressure. Until it’s very extreme, there are no symptoms, which is why it’s often called the silent killer. Also, we don’t know if our cholesterol is too high, because we don’t really have any outward symptoms of that, so to have that checked every year is very important,” Rhodes said.
