The fifth annual Cardboard Boat Regatta is happening during Pontiac’s Party in the Park Saturday at 3 p.m.
Kristin Arbogast is with Pontiac Parks and Rec and explains how that all works.
“This is the fifth year for the boat regatta. Last year, we had about 14 or 15 boats that raced. It’s boats all created by cardboard and duct tape. Folks have a team. It can be one person in a boat. It can be up to eight people. Folks are encouraged to get teams, build a boat regatta, be whatever design you would like and then we put them in at Play Park and we race from one swinging bridge to the next swinging bridge,” Arbogast said.
