Have you noticed the pinwheels on the courthouse lawn? That is a project done in conjunction with National Child Abuse Awareness Month, which is wrapping up at the end of this week.
Judy Brucker, executive director of the Child Advocacy Center, explains what those pinwheels mean.
“Four hundred and eighteen pinwheels have been placed in McLean, Livingston and De Witt counties and they represent the number of kids who have been seen by our Children’s Advocacy Center and our CASA program in 2016, so it’s just meant to be a visual – each of those pinwheels represents a child,” Brucker said.
Brucker was a guest on a recent Community Forum, which is available in the podcast section at WJEZ.com.
