The Vermillion Players board recently announced it is renaming its annual scholarship the Robert B. McKenzie Scholarship.
Board President Mary Jones tells the story and how to apply.
“This past year, Bob McKenzie actually retired from the board, and for anyone who knows Vermillion Players, Bob McKenzie was involved for longer than any of us can imagine – about 45 years, I believe, he’s been on the board of directors and been involved with Vermillion Players and we wanted to do something to honor all of the work that he’s put in, so we really thought renaming the scholarship in his honor would be a way to thank him for all of the work he’s done. So, scholarship applications are currently being accepted. They should be in all of our local Livingston County high schools. If you’re outside of the county, but have been involved with Vermillion Players, applications can be found on our website at vermillionplayers.com. Those are due back to Vermillion Players no later than April 17 and winners will be announced May 1,” Jones said.
