Statewide tornado drill today

By Cynthia Grau/WJEZ News

This week is National Severe Weather Preparedness Week and today is the statewide tornado drill beginning at 10 a.m.

Pontiac Fire Chief Scott Runyon explains how the morning will go.

“The sirens around the state will sound around 10:00. That is a good time for you to enact your plan if you have one. You should have one. Just discuss what you’re going to do if you have to do it. If you’re in a place of business, everybody should be involved with that. Have a plan for everybody that works there and where they should go,” Runyon said.

Runyon will be a guest on the 6:45 Community Forum tomorrow morning, explaining more ways to prepare for severe weather.
