The Pontiac Public Library through a partnership with the University of Illinois Extension is starting a new group for kids called the STEAM Team.
Library Director Kristin Holzhauer said STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, which is a new initiative used throughout the Pontiac school districts.
“It is kind of an educational platform that incorporates hands-on activities for kids, so the University of Illinois Extension office is going to help us bring some fun, STEAM-related activities to the library each month between now and our summer reading program. Our March dates are March 9 and March 23, and you can stop in at the library or give us a call for more information on how to sign up for that,” Holzhauer said.
