If you’ve ever wanted to explore Illinois historical sites or just learn more about them, there is a new app for you from the State Historic Preservation Agency.

Agency Spokesperson Chris Wills describes the app.

“I could see someone going to a part of the state and wondering what historic sites are nearby. So, they look it up and decide ‘oh this is the one that interests me, I’m going to drive over there.’ But then when you’re at the site, touring it, you might want to pull it out and look at a picture of what it looked like in the past or read a little about it,” said Wills.

Through this app, people are also able to donate to their favorite historic site. You can download the app on iTunes by searching “historic sites of Illinois” or by doing a google search for IHPA.
