The Illinois State Police will be enforcing the FATAL-4 moving violations during Super Bowl weekend.
The FATAL-4 violations include DUI, speeding, distracted driving and seat belt compliance, but police will be putting an emphasis on impaired driving.
After last year’s Super Bowl weekend with nearly 2,500 FATAL-4 citations statewide, which included 200 alcohol-related arrests, troopers will be conducting roving patrols and roadside safety checks in high fatality areas throughout the weekend.
Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is the leading cause for traffic crashes and fatalities on game day and Illinois State Police will be strictly enforcing DUI violations.
