Police respond to Wednesday robbery

The Pontiac Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Midwest Gas Station on Custer Avenue Wednesday evening around 6 p.m.

The cashier told officers a male subject wearing a hooded jacket with a bandana over his face had entered the gas station, threatened her with a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. He obtained more than $400 and fled in an unknown direction.

The incident remains under investigation. Livingston County Sheriff’s Police and Illinois State Police assisted the Pontiac Police.
