Pontiac Police Chief Jim Woolford understands there are scary things happening across the country on a daily basis, and has advice for people looking to make a difference in others’ lives.
“As the Chief of Police, you see all these demonstrations happening all across the country and I can’t support that. I believe in change and I believe in affecting change, but if you believe that your community is not being serviced well, go take an application and become part of the solution instead of shutting down roads and trashing stores. Become a police officer. Walk in the shoes. We tout unconditional respect and I tell my officers they need to consider what it’s like to walk in everyone else’s shoes and we just ask for the same thing. Walk in our shoes and make a difference, rather than becoming the problem,” Woolford said.
Woolford will be a guest on an upcoming Community Forum, where he further talks about the hiring process for the department.
