When the huge, inflated, sunglasses-adorned duck is seen around Pontiac, it’s a sign the Mighty Vermillion Duck Race is near.

Gary Beckman, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County gave some insight on the upcoming race.

“Typically we like to drop the little rubber ducks off the Mill Street Bridge and float them down to the swinging bridge, and give away $4,000 cash, as well as some other prizes for our adoptees,” Beckman said.

Funds raised from this event will help support the after school program at the Club.
