Flanagan couple charged with drug possession

A Flanagan couple was arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop resulted in the seizure of heroin and other drugs.

According to a press release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, James and Beth Blankenbeckler were stopped on Illinois Route 17 near Blackstone, where one bag of heroin, five used bags containing heroin residue drug paraphernalia and other drugs were discovered by officers.

They were both formally charged Wednesday with possession of a controlled substance and Beth Blankenbeckler was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance inside a penal institution.
