Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti made an appearance in Pontiac Friday, launching the Summer Meals Program in Livingston County.

Livingston County Board Chairman Marty Fannin was on hand for the event and said he appreciated the work Sanguinetti is doing to help underprivileged families.

“I think she was very down to earth and very concerned about the health and wellbeing of all the children of the state and that she was interested in seeing that all of the counties, not just some of the counties, were participating in the summer meal program for underprivileged kids. Livingston County is new and Superintendent Brian Dukes has got a plan for, hopefully, this summer,” Fannin said.

Sanguinetti joined the US Department of Agriculture Regional Administrator and representatives of the Illinois Commission to end Hunger to launch this program that has expanded to 102 counties in Illinois.
