The Livingston County Retired Teachers Association is holding its first meeting of the year Tuesday at Baby Bulls Fine Dining with the breakfast buffet beginning at 9:00.

Navana Ahrends, immediate past president for the organization, said they will have several speakers set for the day.

“We’re privileged to have Bob Lyons, who is a current member of the TRS, which is the Teachers Retirement System Board. He is very knowledgeable about the workings of the TRS and is definitely a supporter of the IRTA,” Ahrends said.

Bill Lane and Gary Beckman will also be speaking during the event. There will also be a 50/50 drawing to benefit two $250 scholarships for worthy projects benefitting classrooms.
