A man who is incarcerated at Pontiac Correctional Facility received a sentence of 60 years in prison on Monday for murder and other charges.

According to a press release from Livingston County State’s Attorney Seth Uphoff, Michael Bragg was charged after his attack on his cellmate Fabian Carrillo in December 2014. Bragg confessed the murder to investigators, saying he intended to kill another inmate so he could do the rest of his time in jail, adding he intended to, quote, take out the first inmate he didn’t like.

Bragg will serve 60 additional years consecutively to the time he’s already serving.
