The Prairie Lands Foundation will be presenting Fugate Woods Day of Discovery: Native American Culture in Southeast Livingston County Saturday from 9 to 3 at Dominy Memorial Library in Fairbury.

Steve Walters, member of the Livingston County Historical Society, said there are several things that will be explored through this event.

“Both the cultural landscape of the past and the people that walked about the plants that were here, how the biodiversity changed over the last 12,000 years or so. So, it’s going to be a really interesting program in several areas,” Walters said.

Speakers for the day will be Dr. Michael Wiant, director of Dickson Mounds, and Bill Handel, plant ecologist and biologist.
