The Spread the Word to End the Word campaign began yesterday at Pontiac Township High School, complete with an assembly and those involved have plans for more events.
Laura Baumgardner, life skills special education teacher at PTHS, said the group plans on being at Pontiac Dairy Queen Saturday from 1 to 5, asking people to sign their banner, and those who do will receive a free ice cream treat.
“We want people to be a part of it. We want everyone to feel like they can share this message and spread this message of respect,” Baumgardner said.
