Coaches versus Cancer is happening Saturday evening at Flanagan-Cornell High School.
This annual event raises money for the American Cancer Society through several fundraisers throughout game week, culminating in the basketball game at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Brian Yoder, principal and athletic director at the high school, said this event is driven largely by the student population, including the student council, FFA and boys and girls basketball teams. He said Saturday’s opponent, Roanoke-Benson, as well as past opponents, have also joined in to help with the cause.
“Hoping to get a lot of people over here to help support the teams and help support the Cancer Society. We’re looking forward to Saturday night,” said Yoder.
Saturday evening events will begin with dinner at 4:30, raffles, a silent auction and the Pontiac 66ers will be available for autographs.
