The Child Protection Network saw an increase in 2015 for children receiving forensic interviews.

Judy Brucker, executive director of the CPN, was a recent guest on the Community Forum and said the increase isn’t only bad news.

“The good news is we’re there to serve those families and maybe the good news is that we’re getting better at public awareness so more people are speaking out, but the long and short of it is, we are seeing more kids,” Brucker said.

Children receive these interviews after allegations of sexual abuse, serious physical abuse or if they are a witness to a major crime.
