The Pontiac Police are searching for 80-year-old Louis Lowery of Pontiac, who was last seen at his home during the early hours of Saturday.

According to Pontiac Police Chief Jim Woolford, Lowery is described as an African American male and is believed to be wearing a gray sweatshirt, sweatpants and white tennis shoes. He is 5’7” and 160 pounds. He is believed to have left his Dorothy Drive home on foot and his direction was unknown. He does not have a vehicle or cell phone with him and is believed he may be suffering from dementia.

As the news broke of his disappearance, Pontiac Police started the search with the help of Pontiac Fire Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Police, Illinois State Police Air Ops and the Livingston County Search and Rescue team Saturday, with the addition of countless concerned citizens. On Sunday, Pontiac Police organized a large group of citizens for a community ground search, which came up with nothing leading to the late afternoon hours yesterday.

People are asked to share the posts on the Pontiac Police’s Facebook page at facebook.com/Pontiacpolice or to call them at 815-844-0911 if they have any information on the whereabouts of Mr. Lowery.
