The Pontiac City Council met last night and discussed the new council room rental policy and approved the levy.
Pontiac City Administrator Bob Karls explained the changes to the rental policy.
“You will have a higher rate if you have food in here. We’re also going to put a responsibility in. If there are damages and/or stains, the user will have to reimburse us for that,” Karls said.
Karls also said the levy, which hasn’t changed in about four years, with the property tax levy extension coming to about $2.3 million dollars. He said it will have an impact on the general fund, which will be addressed during preparations for the next year’s budget.
