The Livingston County Public Health Department recently achieved recertification status.
This certification is effective for a five-year period, which began November 2.
Certification status means the health department is in compliance with codes established by the Illinois Department of Public Health for local departments. The department was also advised Livingston County’s Community Needs Assessment and Health plan for 2015-2020 has been approved.
Health plan priorities to be addressed over the next five years include education awareness and training, mental health, obesity and substance abuse, which will include illegal drugs, prescription medications, alcohol and tobacco.
