Livingston County Sheriff Tony Childress called a press conference yesterday to address some allegations made by a county board member in a story by a local newspaper.
Sheriff Tony Childress talked about how in that story, Board Member John Yoder said, and Childress denied, that there were uniformed officers walking a parade to support a local politician. Childress also spoke of speculation in that story about procedures his office had used while serving a warrant.
“That kind of treatment along with falsehoods and lies about Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies, as a result, he should tender his resignation immediately, because to my knowledge, never before has a private citizen or a sheriff been treated with such malicious disrespect by a board member and I have to wonder why,” Childress said.
Childress said he was duly elected by the people of Livingston County to serve as sheriff and he will continue to do just that.
