The Pontiac City Council met last night and discussed signing off on the railroad crossing plan for the intersection of Ladd and Reynolds Street.
Mayor Bob Russell said there would be a lot of work done at that intersection, including the crossing, curbs and the addition of several stop lights.
“The ICC and the Department of Transportation said this is what we have to do, so we informed the council of the letter we have to sign. We’ve been informed this will be a long construction project. It could easily be six months of partial lane closings, open and closed, there will be medians put in. This is going to be major project and will totally change the function of that intersection,” Russell said.
Also discussed included a liquor license update and the approval of façade grants for Pfaff’s Bakery and Crescent Theatre.
