A one-vehicle accident Thursday evening claimed the life of a Dwight man.

According to Livingston County Coroner Michael P. Burke, the rollover accident happened in the southbound lane of Interstate 55 at the 202 mile marker. Thirty-three year old Joseph Haggard was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the emergency room of OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center.

The crash is under investigation by District 6 State Police and an autopsy has been ordered. Responding to the call with assistance included the Pontiac Fire Department, Duffy EMS, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Police and Pontiac Police.
