Saturday is National Thank a Police Officer Day and the Illinois Auxiliary of Wives Behind the Badge are asking Illinois residents to Paint Illinois Blue.

People can show their support to their local police departments on Saturday by displaying something blue, whether it’s bows, blue porch lights or by placing supportive messages.

The Auxiliary also challenges people to make a creative display and submit a photo of it to [email protected].

In Fairbury, a blue line is painted on the curb at the SELCAS, and some of the EMTs also painted blue lines at their homes in support of law enforcement.

Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. wishes to serve as a positive voice for law enforcement in communities across the nation with events like Paint Illinois Blue.
