Pontiac District 429 Schools and the Heart of Illinois Blue Star Mothers are partnering to help support the troops with a huge care package supply drive.

A long list of items are accepted and Michelle Snell, one of the organizers of the event, lists a few of the many.

“Some of the items you could bring in are beef jerky, nuts, protein bars, pudding cups, Koo-aid mix, tea bags, protein power, Band-aids, Chapstik, razors, shampoo, hand sanitizer, gum and Rice Krispie treats,” Snell said.

Drop off points are all District 429 schools and the collection ends October 16.
