The Pontiac Fire Department responded to several calls Wednesday afternoon and early Thursday morning.

According to Chief Scott Runyon, the first one came at 2 p.m. at Redwood Mobile Homes in Pontiac. A car fire was reported in the office parking lot. Firefighters found the unattended vehicle to have an engine compartment fire and no cause for the fire has been found.

At approximately 4:20 a.m., firefighters were called to the Quality Inn in Pontiac for a light fixture that had short circuited and caused a fire in the ladies restroom adjacent to the lobby. The smoke activated the sprinkler system, which extinguished the fire. There were no injuries reported and smoke and water damage was sustained to that single room.
