The Pontiac Rotary had a special guest yesterday for its weekly meeting.
Bruce Firchau, museum chairman for the Basketball Museum of Illinois, was giving the club an update on where they are with the plans for the museum, which will be located at the old Kmart building in Pontiac.
“We are moving along. Yesterday, I was at Oswego, Illinois, and we did an oral history recording and we’ve done now 38 of them,” Firchau said. “I’ll be talking about some of the exhibits that we’ll have in the museum and how we’re progressing along.”
Firchau is former longtime basketball coach and member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association
